WhatsApp is a big social media company which many people join to chat with friends, farmily , employees and companies.

WhatsApp Messenger, or simply WhatsApp, is an American freeware, cross-platform centralized messaging and Voice over IP (VoIP) service owned by Facebook, Inc. It allows users to send text messages and voice messages, make voice and video calls, and share images, documents, user locations, and other media.

 Many people stay at home, there is an increase in WhatsApp groups as many friends, families and companies create chat groups to get in touch with one another.

Some people add others to groups without seeking their concerns even though there's a courtesy to always invite someone to join a group chat instead of adding them directly. If you feel you were added into many groups and what to leave some groups, the simple steps with screenshots below will help you do it.

Here are the simple steps to leave WhatsApp group.

Warning after leaving a group, you cannot join it again unless the Admin adds you.

  • Step one: Enter the said WhatsApp group.

  • Step two : click on the three vertical dots top right.

  • Step three: click on more 

  • Step four: click on exit group.

Enter the said WhatsApp group as seen on the screenshot below. This will lead you to step two.

Click on the three vertical dots top right corner as seen on the screenshot below. This will lead you to step three.

Click on more to go to step four as seen on the screenshot below.

Click exit group as seen on the screenshot below. Before you do this, be sure you really want to exit the WhatsApp group because after clicking exit, you can no longer join.

After you  click on exit, you will no longer be a member of that group. You can also mute the group if you receive too many messages.

Here's how to  do it.

  1. Enter the WhatsApp group

  2. Click 3 dots top right

  3. Click mute notifications

  4. Select weekly, hours or always.

You are done.
